My Pas Normal Studios Kit Guide for Autumn and Winter 2023/2024

After throwing out my spring/summer Pas Normal Studios kit guide, it seemed only right to bring you more. My admiration for the Danish brand is hardly a secret as I think they are an unmatched knack for blending elite performance with undeniable style. Read more about my love for the brand in this earlier blog post.

Seeing the buzz from the last guide, I thought: why not turn this into a seasonal tradition? With Europe's trees shedding their leaves and winter's whispers getting louder, it's the perfect moment to share my top Pas Normal Studios colour combos for the colder months. From layering for those frosty dawn rides to the autumn afternoon spin, this guide aims to be your go-to.

So, with Pas Normal's knack for curating personalized, (tiny) mix-and-matchable collections, let's explore some Pas Normal styles and functions for the months ahead!

my pas normal wardrobe for autumn and winter 2023

2 combinations for when it’s not too cold

When temperatures hover between 10 and 15 degrees, I opt for knickers rather than bib shorts or tights. I pair them with either a Mechanism or Essential long-sleeve jersey and sometimes a light neck tube.

Both the Deep Grey/Green and Clay jerseys pair great with the Dark Olive tights. However, they both also complement the Navy tights quite well, in my opinion.

2 double layer combinations for changeable conditions

For mornings that start chilly but warm up as the day progresses, or when rain might be on the horizon, I gear up with either a Stow Away Jacket or my new Mechanism Pertex Rain Jacket, depending on the situation.

The Medium Grey Stow Away Jacket and the Burned Orange Rain Jacket both complement actually every colour of the Essential Tights wonderfully, whether it's Navy, Dark Purple, Dark Olive, or Dark Celeste.

2 combinations for when it’s beyond chilly

As temperatures dip below 10 degrees, and possibly even approach freezing in the early hours, I consistently opt for a Mechanism Thermal Long Sleeve Jersey paired with complementary tights. On such brisk days, a neck tube is not just a stylish addition but also essential to keep warm.

By now, you see where I'm going with this, right? Mix and match these jerseys, tights, and neck tubes, and you'll always find yourself wearing a winning combo.

2 combinations for when it’s freezin’

In truly frigid conditions, I always wear an off-white thermal baselayer—though its color isn't particularly crucial, as I keep the zipper of the Essential Thermal Long Sleeve Jersey fully zipped up. The Essential Thermal Long Bib is my go-to choice. Frankly, I find the Mechanism Deep Winter Long Bibs a tad too bulky and rigid, and my legs aren't easily chilled. For added comfort, also here I pair this ensemble with a snug Thermal Necktube.

Well, nuff said, right? There's a lot of room for mixing and matching with these too. And while black is always a versatile choice, it might come off as a bit too traditional and mundane maybe.

Don’t pay too much!

Feeling inspired quite a bit? If so, please know that it's not my intention to let you spend your well-earned money right away. But, if you feel teased to get yourself some cool Pas Normal Studios stuff anyway, I recommend you to get to the Maats Cycling Culture online store.

The guys are amazing people and official retailers of Pas Normal Studios. As it’s a multi-brand store, you’ll also find brands such as Maap, Rapha, Quoc, and their own brands Canvas and Maats. Their webshop offers fast worldwide delivery and outstanding service. But whenever it happens to be around, their stores in both Amsterdam and Utrecht are worth a visit as well!
