If you ever visit Tuscany, whether you bring your bike or even when you don’t, this incredible agriturismo called Terre di Cocomo should be on your list to spent a couple of days! I pretty must insist!
When I putted this blogpost about my trip to Tuscany online, I also felt like recommending this place in a separate post. Just because this turned out to be one of the best places I’ve ever been. So, let me tell you why…
agriturismo
When my wife and I are spending some time in Italy, we prefer to stay at an so called agriturismo. Authentic farms where you can loose yourself completely in rural life. Nice places mainly hidden in the countryside. A quiet place in nature, far from the crowd. You can find them in all kinds of different forms; from restored country houses to small-scale bed and breakfast. You will find agriturismi in almost every region in Italy. Let’s call it an authentic farm holiday. The owner is therefore often both farmer and host.
All credits to my wife as it is mainly her being very good at finding these hidden gems. But even for her doing this one turned out to be exceptional!

A privileged place of genuine Tuscan hospitality made of traditional flavours, peace and nature, traditions and history.

the location
This farm is located in the Municipality of Buggiano, which appears to be the oldest municipality in Italy.
It’s situated in the more northern part of Tuscany. The Pistoia area. If you go North you’ll find hills up to 1.500 meters. If you go West or East you’ll respectively find the cities Lucca and Prato. And if you go South you’ll find Tuscany as you know it from the pictures. Rolling countryside hills, cypresses, winding roads and typical Tuscan villages like San Miniato and Vinci.
The farm
From the Terre di Cocomo site you experience stunning views. The mountains in your back, the hills with the small village of Buggiano Castello on top of it, and the view on the valley from the infinity pool.
This site used to be completely uncultivated and abandoned. to be an old olive grove and its dilapidated farmhouse and other buildings. But this family managed to reconstruct it all into this amazing site and fantastic place to spent your holiday. Besides all these very old olive trees they grow their high quality organic products everywhere. You’ll find out more about that while having breakfast or lunch!
the pool
Besides the fact that this pool can be the ultimate refreshment on hot Tuscan summer days, its infinity built is a true eye-catcher whether you’re on the edge or taking a swim. Surrounded by plants, aromatic herbs and a rich native vegetation, you can relax the ultimate way.
the rooms
The family offers a total of 7 double rooms which all looks already great from the outside.
My wife and I stayed in two different rooms and I can tell that both were fantastic. Both had stunning views and both looked incredibly fresh. Very modern. But at the same time it has this great authentic vibe because the rooms are furnished with restored vintage and handcrafted furniture. It’s all in great harmony. You can tell they spent so much time in details and finishing. I really like that.
Lovely bedrooms, perfect beds. And furthermore, it is all equipped with all modern conveniences like a great quiet airco and a proper wireless network.
the food
In between the main house and the pool you’ll find the bistro. It’s where they serve their amazing breakfast and lunches. On its outdoor terrace or inside. Lots of the food is coming right from their own site. Vegetables, fruit, honey. It’s so fresh. So good. I rather let the pictures speak…
the people
Sara and her husband Emilio are running this incredible place. And they managed to surround themselves by the greatest crew. All these people put so much love in everything they do. They’re always happy to see you. Always willing to have a chat or assist you with anything you need.
I’m not joking when I tell you I’m really miss them by the time I’m writing this down.

You won’t find more value for your money in these surrounds. This place is top notch. But act quick as this place is quickly gaining popularity. But they have very limited space!
