about Alessandro Salvaggio
Hello there! I’m Alessandro Salvaggio. An Italian cyclist, photographer and tour guide. I live in Tuscany, which is of course a fantastic place for cycling. Here’s where I settled after many years spent abroad living in the UK, the Netherlands and Patagonia, Argentina.
I consider myself a creative soul. Quitting my designer job in 2020, gave me all the freedom to start my very own business in which I could combine all my creative instincts with my passion for cycling and photography.
Without question, I consider my bikes to be my best friends. The fact that I won’t go anywhere without at least one of them tells enough, right?
With lots of perseverance, I successfully managed to transform my passion into my job. Because, besides of my work as a sports photographer for different brands in the cycling space, I run a touring travel company under the name of asimismo.eu. Under the Asimismo banner, I offer bespoke private cycling tours in Tuscany.
Furthermore, I would say my curiosity is my drive. I love scouting new routes, and new ways of being creative. And, while out there, in nature, in solitude, I find the most of my inspiration.
Sometimes I rather observe things solely with my eyes instead of feeling the urge to capture things with my camera. I mean, the beauty of cycling is also hidden in the fact that it can get you to incredible locations, giving you amazing experiences where all senses get involved.
When motivation is lacking, I find myself searching for new roads to ride. All while I fully trust the process, while admiring nature’s simplicity.
As a contributor here on Rik's blog, I will be sharing my view on various products that are part of my routine on the bike and other gear I use pretty much daily. If you want to know more about me or whenever you have specific questions, please feel free to drop me an email or get in touch via my Instagram.
